Is the Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 worth it over the Gen 9?

The Gen 10 moves to the Core Ultra 9 and RTX 5080 with GDDR7 memory, a clear step up in GPU performance and efficiency. If you already own a Gen 9 with an RTX 4080 or 4090, the jump is smaller than the price suggests.

Can it run games at 240Hz on the OLED screen?

The 240Hz panel suits esports titles like Valorant or CS2, which easily exceed 240 fps on this hardware. Demanding AAA games at 2560 x 1600 will land well below 240 fps even on the RTX 5080, so expect 100 to 160 fps on high settings.

Expect roughly 4 to 6 hours of light office use and under 2 hours of gaming on battery. The OLED panel and high-wattage components draw heavily, so keep the charger nearby.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage later?

Storage is upgradeable through the second M.2 slot, so you can add beyond the 2TB installed. RAM is already at the 64GB maximum, so there is no room to expand.

What comes in the box?

The laptop, a power adapter and cable, and Windows 11 Pro preinstalled. No mouse or headset is included.

Our take on the Legion Pro 7i Gen 10

The Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 is Lenovo's 16-inch flagship gaming laptop, built around an Intel Core Ultra 9 (24 cores) and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 with 16GB of GDDR7 memory. This configuration pairs 64GB of RAM and 2TB of storage with a 2560 x 1600 OLED panel running at 240Hz, all in an aluminum chassis that weighs 5.67 lb. It is a desktop-replacement machine aimed at high-refresh 1440p-class gaming, local AI work and heavy content creation rather than travel.
