Is the Legion Pro 5i worth it?

For a 16-inch QHD gaming laptop with an RTX GPU, it is one of the better value options in its class. It suits buyers who want performance over portability.

How does it compare to the Legion Pro 5?

The 5i uses an Intel CPU; the Pro 5 uses AMD. Performance is close, so pick whichever configuration is cheaper with the GPU you want.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

Yes. RAM and the SSD are user-accessible, and the board supports up to 32 GB. Check the exact configuration before buying if you plan to upgrade.

How is the battery life?

Expect only a few hours of light use and well under two hours of gaming. Keep the charger nearby for serious play.

What comes in the box?

The laptop and its power adapter. A mouse and headset are not included.

Legion laptops see the deepest discounts during back-to-school and holiday sales, and when a new generation launches. Watch the price history before buying.

Our take on the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gaming Laptop Intel Core RTX

The Legion Pro 5i is Lenovo's 16-inch mainstream gaming laptop, pairing an Intel Core CPU (up to 5.2 GHz) with an NVIDIA RTX GPU and a 2560 x 1600 display. It comes with 16 or 32 GB RAM and 512 GB to 2 TB SSD storage, and weighs 5.4 lb. Ports cover USB-A, USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet and a 3.5 mm jack. It is a strong value pick in the mid-range gaming class, though the 5.4 lb weight and fan noise under load are the usual trade-offs.
