Is it worth it over a thermal monocular?

Only if you want binocular-style viewing and recording on a budget. Thermal sees body heat in total darkness but costs far more; this unit relies on ambient light and its IR lamp.

How far can it really see at night?

Levenhuk rates detection at up to 300 m with the IR illuminator on. Real range depends on how much ambient light there is and how reflective the target is.

How long does the battery last?

The removable 700 mAh battery is small, and running the IR illuminator drains it faster. Expect a few hours of mixed use and carry a spare or a power bank.

Can I use it in complete darkness?

Yes, but only with the IR illuminator on, and the visible IR glow can be seen by others. Without IR it needs moonlight, starlight or another light source.

What comes in the box?

Typically the binocular, the rechargeable battery, a carry strap and case, and a user manual. Check the listing for a charger or cable before you order.

Our take on the Levenhuk Atom Digital DNB250 Binocular night vision device

The Levenhuk Atom Digital DNB250 is a digital night vision binocular with 6x optical magnification, up to 8x digital zoom and a built-in infrared illuminator rated for detection up to 300 m at night. It records 2560x1440 video and 8000x6000 stills to a 400x400 px internal display, runs on a removable 700 mAh rechargeable battery and is built to take knocks. It is a budget digital unit, not thermal, so it needs some light or its IR lamp to see. No current price was supplied, so check the latest best price against its recent range before buying.
