Our take on the Levoit Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier

The Levoit Superior 6000S is a large-capacity evaporative humidifier built for whole-home use, rated for up to 3,000 square feet. Its 6-gallon tank and 1,500 mL/h output mean fewer refills than most console humidifiers, and it adds app and voice-assistant control plus a built-in humidistat. It produces invisible, mist-free moisture, so it won't leave white dust on furniture. At $249.99 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, it sits at its only listed new price, with no competing store to compare against.

Best for
Large open-plan homes and multi-room floors up to 3,000 sq ft
Households that want set-and-forget humidity control via app or voice
People who dislike visible mist and white dust
Dry-climate winters with long run times between refills
Pros
  • 6-gallon tank cuts refill frequency to roughly once a day or less
  • Evaporative design produces no visible mist or mineral dust
  • App control and voice assistant support for schedules and remote adjustment
  • Customizable humidistat with automatic shutoff
  • Rated for 3,000 sq ft, enough for a whole floor
  • Quiet at the low end (28 dB)
Cons
  • Heavy at 17.6 lbs and bulky at about 27 inches tall
  • Wick filters need periodic replacement, an ongoing cost
  • Fan noise rises to 45 dB on high
  • No HEPA filtration, so it won't double as an air purifier
  • Only one store lists a new price, limiting comparison shopping

Questions and answers

Is the Levoit Superior 6000S worth it?
If you need to humidify a large space and want app control, the 6-gallon tank and 3,000 sq ft rating justify the $249.99 price at Amazon as of November 3, 2026. For a single bedroom, a smaller and cheaper unit makes more sense.
How does it compare with the Levoit LV600S?
The 6000S is a whole-house evaporative unit with a 6-gallon tank and 1,500 mL/h output, while the LV600S is a smaller hybrid warm/cool mist model for single rooms. Choose the 6000S for coverage and refill convenience, the LV600S for warm mist and a lower price.
How often do I refill the tank?
The 6-gallon tank and 1,500 mL/h maximum output give roughly a day or more of runtime at moderate settings. In very dry conditions on high, expect to refill more often.
Does it need filters?
Yes. It uses wick filters that absorb water and release moisture, and they need replacing periodically depending on water hardness and use. Budget for replacements as an ongoing cost.
How loud is it?
Levoit rates it at 28 to 45 dB. Low fan speed is quiet enough for a bedroom; high speed is audible but not disruptive in a living area.
What's in the box?
Expect the humidifier unit, a wick filter and a quick-start guide. Check the listing for whether a spare filter is included before buying.
Where is the Levoit Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier cheapest?
At Amazon, for $249.99, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Levoit Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier?
3 stores we checked sell it, including Amazon, eBay, VeSync.
