Is the LG C8 77-inch good for gaming?

Only modestly. It has low input lag in game mode but no VRR or ALLM, so fast console gaming loses smoothness and auto-switching.

Does it support Dolby Vision?

The listed HDR formats are HDR10 and HLG. Dolby Vision is not listed for this model, so check the set's own spec sheet before relying on it.

How does it compare with newer LG C-series OLEDs?

Newer C-series sets are brighter, add VRR and ALLM, and support more HDR formats. The C8 is a 2018 design and is outclassed on features.

Is $8,996.99 a good price for this TV?

No. That is the only new price listed, at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, and it is well above what current 77-inch OLEDs sell for.

Expect the TV, its stand, a magic remote and power cable. The listing does not detail accessories, so confirm with the seller.

Yes. It uses a standard VESA mount, but at 77 inches you need a heavy-duty bracket rated for the panel's weight.

Our take on the LG 77" Class OLED C8 Series 4K (2160P) Smart Ultra HD HDR TV

The LG C8 is a 77-inch 4K OLED TV from LG's 2018 lineup, built on the self-lit OLED panel that made the C series popular. It supports HDR10 and HLG, Dolby Atmos audio, webOS apps, AirPlay 2 and Google Assistant voice control. The 77-inch size was the largest C8 model, and it has since been replaced by newer C-series generations. At $8,996.99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, it is priced far above what a current 77-inch OLED costs, so the price is hard to justify.

Best forBuyers who want a large OLED for a dark roomMovie and streaming viewers who value contrast over brightnessLG webOS users who want AirPlay 2 and Google AssistantShoppers set on this specific 2018 model

Pros

OLED panel gives per-pixel contrast and true blacks
77-inch screen is large for a living room or media room
Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital support
webOS with AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
Four HDMI inputs and LAN port for wired networking

Cons

No VRR or ALLM, so it is a weak fit for gaming
No HDR10+ support; only HDR10 and HLG
Peak brightness is lower than modern OLEDs and QLEDs
2018 model, long superseded by newer C-series sets
$8,996.99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026 is far above current 77-inch OLED prices
