Is the LG XG2T loud enough for outdoors?

It is a 5W speaker with one 1.5-inch woofer, so it suits a tent, picnic blanket or small group. It will not fill a yard or compete with traffic noise.

Can I take it in the shower or rain?

Yes. It is IP67 rated, meaning dust tight and water resistant to 1 m for 30 minutes in fresh water. Dry it before use and do not charge it while wet.

How long does the battery last?

LG rates it at up to 10 hours with volume at 50%, Bluetooth on, standard EQ and no lighting. Louder playback and Sound Boost will shorten that.

Does it work with Google Assistant or Siri?

Only through your paired phone. The speaker has no microphone or Wi-Fi, so you talk to the assistant on the phone, not the speaker.

Can I pair two XG2T speakers together?

Yes. LG's Wireless Party Link lets you connect two units for more output or stereo sound.

What comes in the box?

The speaker with its adjustable string and a USB-C charging cable. A charger is not included; it draws up to 15W.

Our take on the LG XG2T XBOOM Go Wireless Speaker

The LG XG2T XBOOM Go is a palm-sized Bluetooth speaker that weighs 280 g and hangs from a backpack, bike or tent with its adjustable string. It pairs a single 1.5-inch upfiring woofer rated at 5W with IP67 dust and water protection and seven MIL-STD 810H durability tests, plus a Sound Boost mode for more bass. Battery life is rated up to 10 hours at 50% volume. It is a rugged, low-power speaker rather than a party unit, so expect modest loudness and bass for its size.

What reviewers say

The speaker holds a 4.9 out of 5 from 20 ratings, a small sample. Owners of tiny outdoor speakers like this tend to value the size and toughness over sound output.

Pros

Compact size and light weight
Rugged, waterproof build for outdoor use
Easy to strap to a bike or backpack

Cons

Bass and maximum volume are modest for the size
