Our take on the LifeSupplyUSA Heavy Duty Aluminum Electrostatic Washable Air Purifier A/C Filter

This is a reusable 24 x 30 x 1 inch electrostatic HVAC filter rated MERV 8, made to replace disposable furnace and A/C filters and be rinsed clean instead of thrown away. The aluminum frame and washable media are the selling point; MERV 8 captures dust, pollen and lint but not fine smoke or virus-sized particles. At $39.99 at LifeSupplyUSA as of November 7, 2026, it costs more than a single disposable filter but pays back after a few changes.

Best forHouseholds that change filters often and want to stop buying disposablesPet owners and dusty homes dealing with hair and lintStandard 24 x 30 inch return grilles and furnace slotsRenters or owners who want a low-maintenance filter
Pros
  • Washable and reusable, so no ongoing filter purchases
  • Electrostatic media attracts dust and pet hair without power
  • MERV 8 handles dust, pollen, lint and mold spores

Cons
  • MERV 8 is not enough for smoke, fine allergens or medical-grade filtration
  • Needs rinsing and full drying before reuse, which takes time
  • Thicker or denser media can raise airflow resistance versus a cheap fiberglass filter
  • No certifications listed

Questions and answers

Is this filter worth it over disposables?
If you change filters every one to three months, the $39.99 price at LifeSupplyUSA as of November 7, 2026 pays back within a year. It makes the most sense for dusty homes or pet owners.
What size is it and will it fit my furnace?
It is 24 inches high, 30 inches long and 1 inch thick. Measure your existing filter slot before ordering, since 24 x 30 x 1 is a specific size.
What does MERV 8 filter out?
MERV 8 captures dust, pollen, lint, mold spores and pet dander. It does not reliably capture smoke, bacteria or virus-sized particles.
How do I clean it?
Rinse the media with a garden hose or in a tub, let it dry completely, then reinstall. Never put it back wet, since moisture can cause mold in the ductwork.
Will it restrict airflow?
Electrostatic media is denser than basic fiberglass, so airflow resistance is higher. If your system is airflow-sensitive, check with an HVAC tech before switching.
When is it cheapest?
It is $39.99 at LifeSupplyUSA as of November 7, 2026, with two stores listing it new. Compare both stores before buying.
