The Lifetime Wave is a 6-foot, 18-pound sit-on-top kayak molded from UV-protected high-density polyethylene for kids ages 5 and up. Its reverse-chine hull and 24-inch beam favor stability over speed, and the patented swim-up deck gives a child a way to climb back on after a spill. It carries up to 130 pounds and has a molded paddle cradle, but the backrest is sold separately. At $104.50 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with 7 stores listing it new.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 from about 2,100 ratings, the Wave is widely described as a sturdy, stable first kayak for young children. Owners most often praise its light weight and the re-entry deck; complaints center on the missing seat back and the tight fit as kids grow.
