Is the Lodge scrubber brush worth it?

If you cook with cast iron often, yes. It is inexpensive, cleans seasoned pans without soap or steel wool, and the stiff bristles reach corners a sponge misses. Skip it if you mostly use nonstick.

Can I use it on enameled cast iron?

Yes, on enameled cast iron it works for everyday food residue. Avoid pressing hard on enamel, since stiff nylon can dull a glossy finish over time.

Does it scratch cast iron seasoning?

No. Nylon bristles are softer than the polymerized seasoning layer, so normal scrubbing will not strip it. Avoid metal scrapers if you want to keep the seasoning intact.

How do I clean and store the brush?

Rinse it under warm water and let it air dry bristles-down or hang it by the handle hole. Do not put it in the dishwasher; heat and detergent can damage the wood handle.

What is the brush made of?

The head is BPA-free plastic with stiff nylon bristles, and the handle is rubberwood. It is made in Cambodia and weighs about 0.25 lb.

When is the best time to buy it?

This is a low-priced accessory, so discounts are small and infrequent. Buy it when you need it rather than waiting for a sale, and check the price against its recent range.

Our take on the Lodge Cast Iron Scrubber Brush

The Lodge Cast Iron Scrubber Brush is a 10-inch scrub brush built for seasoned and enameled cast iron. It pairs a dense, stiff nylon bristle head with a water-resistant rubberwood handle that has a hanging hole and an ergonomic grip. At about 0.25 lb, it is light enough for daily pan cleaning without scratching seasoning. It is a low-cost accessory rather than a major purchase, so its value depends on whether you already clean cast iron by hand.
