Our take on the LUGGEX Checked Zipperless Aluminum Frame Polycarbonate Luggage

The LUGGEX Zipperless is a 24-inch hard-shell checked suitcase built around a zipperless aluminum frame that closes with latches instead of a zip. The polycarbonate shell and frame construction make it heavier than most softside checked bags at 10.2 lb, and the frame takes up packing space. It spins on four wheels and comes in blue. The best new price is $179.99 at luggex as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no cheaper alternative to compare against.

Pros
  • Zipperless aluminum frame removes the most common failure point on hard cases
  • Polycarbonate shell flexes to absorb impact
  • Four spinner wheels roll easily through airports
  • Latch closure is quick to open and close
  • Rated 4.6 out of 5 from 53 ratings
Cons
  • 10.2 lb empty is heavy for a 24-inch checked bag
  • Frame and latches eat into interior packing space
  • Only one store sells it new, so price competition is limited
  • Latch cases can pop open if overpacked and dropped
  • No expander, unlike many zippered checked bags

Questions and answers

Is the LUGGEX Zipperless worth $179.99?
At $179.99 at luggex as of November 4, 2026, it is priced like a mid-range hard-shell checked bag. You pay for the aluminum frame and latches rather than capacity or light weight.
How does a zipperless frame compare with a zippered hard shell?
Latches and a frame are harder to break into and rarely fail the way zippers do. The trade-off is extra weight and less flexible packing space.
Is 10.2 lb too heavy for a checked bag?
It is on the heavy side for a 24-inch case; many zippered polycarbonate bags of this size weigh 7 to 9 lb. Check your airline's weight limit before packing to the brim.
What size is it, and is it carry-on legal?
It is a 24-inch checked-size case, not a carry-on. Expect to check it on most airlines.
Does it expand?
No. The rigid frame means there is no expansion zipper, so pack to the case's fixed depth.
When is it cheapest?
Only one store lists it new, so discounts are rare. Watch luggex for markdowns around major sales rather than expecting broad retailer competition.
Where is the LUGGEX Checked Zipperless Aluminum Frame Polycarbonate Luggage cheapest?
At luggex, for $179.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the LUGGEX Checked Zipperless Aluminum Frame Polycarbonate Luggage?
Rated 4.6 out of 5 from 53 ratings.
