Our take on the Lux Decor Collection Non-Slip Plastic Velvet Hangers with Stainless Steel Swivel Hooks

These are slim, velvet-coated plastic hangers with stainless steel swivel hooks, sold in a 50-pack. The flocked surface grips blouses, silky tops and pants so they stay put, and the swivel hook lets you turn garments without lifting them off the rod. The thin profile frees up rod space compared with wooden or tubular plastic hangers. It is a bulk closet-organization buy rather than a single premium hanger.

  • Notched shoulders and a bar hold straps and pants
Cons

  • Not adjustable in width or height
  • No over-the-door or stacking options

Questions and answers

Are these hangers worth it?
For light to medium garments, yes. The velvet grip and slim profile solve the two most common closet problems. Skip them for heavy coats, where the plastic core is the weak point.
Will they hold pants and skirts?
Yes. The notched shoulders and crossbar take pants, skirts and straps. Very heavy denim may stretch the bar over time.
Do the hooks really swivel?
Yes, the stainless steel hooks rotate 360 degrees, so you can turn a garment to face you without removing it from the rod.
How many hangers come in a pack?
The pack contains 50 adult-size hangers. That is roughly enough for one person's full closet.
Are they good for silk and delicate fabrics?
Yes. The flocked velvet surface grips silk, satin and chiffon so they do not slide off. Check that the velvet is clean, since dust can transfer to light fabrics.
When is the best time to buy?
Bulk hanger packs usually drop during back-to-school and January closet-organization sales. Compare the per-hanger price across stores before buying.
