Our take on the LUXEYARD 10FT x 12FT Metal Outdoor Storage Shed with Floor Frame Kit

The LUXEYARD 10FT x 12FT is a metal outdoor storage shed sold as a kit, with a floor frame kit included and a brown finish. At 10 by 12 feet it is a large shed, roughly 120 square feet of floor space, so it suits garden tools, mowers, bikes and bulky equipment rather than a small patio corner. Metal sheds like this are cheaper than wood or resin buildings of the same size, but they need a level, solid base and careful anchoring. It is a kit-build product, so plan on a weekend or more of assembly and at least two people.

Best forHomeowners needing large, low-cost storage for mowers and toolsGardeners storing equipment and bulk suppliesBuyers who want a floor frame included in the kitDIY assemblers comfortable with panel-and-screw builds
Pros
  • Large 10 x 12 ft footprint gives about 120 sq ft of floor space
  • Metal walls resist rot and pests better than wood
  • Floor frame kit included, so the base structure is part of the package
  • Brown finish blends into a yard better than bare galvanized steel
  • Kit format ships flat and is usually cheaper than a built shed
Cons
  • Metal panels dent and can rust at scratches or cut edges
  • Needs a level, solid foundation; the floor frame alone is not a floor
  • Assembly is lengthy and realistically needs two people
  • Can get very hot inside in direct summer sun
  • No insulation or climate control for sensitive items

Questions and answers

Is the LUXEYARD 10x12 shed worth it?
For the size, a metal kit shed is one of the cheapest ways to get about 120 square feet of storage. It makes sense if you have a level base and will anchor it well. If you want a shed that stays cool or needs no assembly, a resin or wood building costs more but is easier to live with.
Does it come with a floor?
It includes a floor frame kit, which is the structural base frame. You still need to set it on a level foundation such as a concrete slab or paving, and you may want to add floor panels or boards on top of the frame.
How long does assembly take?
Expect a full day or more for two people. Metal panel sheds go up in many steps, and rushing the base and anchoring is what causes most problems later.
Can it handle snow and wind?
Light-to-moderate snow and wind are fine if the shed is anchored to a solid base. In heavy snow areas, clear the roof, and in high-wind areas, check the anchoring and add tie-downs if needed.
What size base do I need?
Plan a base at least 10 by 12 feet, level and slightly larger than the shed footprint so water drains away. A concrete slab or compacted gravel with pavers works well.
When is it cheapest?
Metal sheds often drop in price in late summer and early fall as stores clear outdoor storage. Compare prices across stores and check the price history before buying.
