Is this kit worth $560.44?

Not at that price. Brushed two-tool kits with small batteries usually sell for much less, and $560.44 at GarageAutoEquipment.com as of November 4, 2026 is at the high end of this kit's range. Wait for a drop or compare brushless kits.

Brushed or brushless: which should I buy?

Brushless costs more but runs cooler, lasts longer and gets more work per charge. Buy brushed only if the price is clearly lower or you need a cheap second set.

What comes in the box?

The BHP452 hammer driver-drill, the BTD141 impact driver, two 18V batteries, a rapid charger and a hard case.

Are the batteries compatible with other Makita tools?

Yes. The 18V LXT batteries fit the whole LXT line, so they work in Makita's other 18V drills, saws and outdoor tools.

How does it compare with Makita's brushless combo kits?

Brushless kits give more torque per pound, longer runtime and better motor life. This kit's edge is a lower entry price, which the current $560.44 price undercuts.

When is this kit cheapest?

Combo kits like this drop most around Black Friday, Father's Day and end-of-season tool sales. Track the price history rather than buying at the top of the range.

Our take on the Makita 18V LXT Cordless Brushed 2 Tool Combo Kit

A two-tool 18V LXT kit pairing a hammer driver-drill with an impact driver, plus two batteries, a charger and a case. Both tools are brushed, so they cost less than Makita's brushless LXT kits but run hotter and shorter per charge. The hammer drill is rated at 450 in.-lbs. of torque and the impact driver at 1,330 in.-lbs. At $560.44 at GarageAutoEquipment.com as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range; this kit has sold for well under that in the past, so it is a weak buy at this price.

What reviewers say

Owners of this generation of Makita LXT brushed tools generally rate them as dependable workhorses that take abuse. The common complaints are heat and runtime from the brushed motors and the small batteries.
