The Makita DC18RC is the rapid charger that comes with most 18V LXT cordless tools. It talks to the battery's chip to control current, voltage and temperature, and a built-in fan cools the pack while charging. Makita rates it at 15 minutes for a compact battery and 30 minutes for a full-size LXT pack. At $145.99 at The Home Depot as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the high end of its recent range; this is a replacement part, not a bargain item.

Owners of Makita LXT tools treat the DC18RC as the standard charger: fast, reliable and the one that came in the box. Complaints center on it being sold without a battery and on its price as a standalone part.
