Cons
  • Corded only; no battery option

  • 5-inch backing plate limits pad size
  • No mention of a case or extra pads in the box
  • Pro-level tool may be overkill for occasional use

Questions and answers

Is the MaxShine MB15 Pro worth it?
At $249.99 at Marine Detail Supply Company as of November 5, 2026, it is a reasonable price for a brushless 1,200 W dual-action polisher. It makes sense if you polish often and want low maintenance; occasional users may not need the power.
How does it compare with a rotary polisher?
The dual-action orbit is more forgiving on paint and less likely to burn through edges. A rotary cuts faster but demands more skill, which is why this is listed for pro-level use.
What pads and backing plate does it use?
It comes with a 5-inch backing plate, so use 5-inch or slightly smaller pads. Larger pads will not fit the plate.
Does it need much maintenance?
MaxShine lists it as maintenance-free, and the vented plate design helps prevent overheating. Keep the vents clear of polish dust and the tool should need little beyond cleaning.
What is in the box?
The listing includes the polisher and a backing plate. It does not mention a case, extra pads or a side handle, so plan to buy pads separately.
When is it cheapest?
