Pros
  • Cushioned vinyl top is softer to sit on than a hard plastic seat
  • Quick-release hinges let you remove the seat for cleaning
  • Wood core gives it more rigidity than thin plastic seats
  • Round shape fits standard round bowls
  • Made in the USA with earth-friendly materials and processes
Cons
  • Vinyl can crack or split over time, especially at the hinge area
  • Cushion holds warmth and can feel less hygienic than hard seats
  • Round only, so it will not fit elongated bowls
  • White vinyl shows stains and wear

Questions and answers

Is this seat worth it?
At $22.87 at pettigrew-online as of November 4, 2026, it is a low-cost way to get a cushioned, quick-release seat. If you want a hard, long-lasting seat, a plastic or molded seat may hold up better.
Will it fit my toilet?
It fits standard round bowls only. Measure your bowl from the mounting holes to the front edge; elongated bowls need a different seat.
How does the quick-release hinge work?
The hinges release the seat from the mounting posts, so you can lift it off to clean the bowl and hinges. No tools are needed for removal.
What is in the box?
The seat and the mounting hardware are included. You supply a screwdriver for installation.
How do I clean the vinyl cushion?
Wipe it with a damp cloth and mild household cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and bleach-heavy cleaners, which can dry out and crack the vinyl.
