Is this set complete for American mahjong?

Yes. It has 160 tiles: 36 bams, 36 craks, 36 dots, 16 winds, 8 flowers, plus jokers and the rest of the American set. Two dice and a tile guide are included.

How big are the tiles?

Each tile is 32mm x 23mm x 13mm. That is smaller than tournament-size tiles around 40mm, so players with large hands or poor eyesight may prefer a bigger set.

What comes in the box?

160 three-layered acrylic tiles, a 14" x 8" two-tone velvet tile bag, two dice, and a double-sided tile guide. The lucite display box is a $20 upgrade, not standard.

Is $156.66 a good price?

Only one store lists it new at $156.66 as of November 4, 2026, so there is no lower competing price to compare against. Expect to pay close to list unless a sale appears.

Can I use it for Chinese mahjong?

Yes. The set is designed for traditional Chinese play as well as American rules, and the tile guide covers the designs and basic reminders.

Should I add the lucite display box?

It costs $20 more and is sized for the tiles, so it suits buyers who want the set on display. If you only need storage, the included velvet bag is enough.
