Is the Melissa & Doug Ocean Easy Fold Play Gym worth it?

For parents who want a wooden gym that folds away, yes. It rates 4.7 out of 5 from 38 ratings, and at $54.99 at Kidsy as of November 7, 2026 it is at the low end of its recent range.

How big is it when open?

It measures 29.5 inches long and 9.5 inches wide, with a round play area. Plan on a clear patch of floor roughly the size of a small rug.

Does it need assembly?

No. The wooden arches come pre-assembled, so it is ready to use out of the box. It folds flat for storage between uses.

It suits newborns through the first several months, for back play and tummy time. Once a baby can push up and roll, most families move to a larger mat.

Wipe the wooden frame and mat with a damp cloth. The mat is not machine-washable, so spot clean spills rather than soaking it.

Its best new price is $54.99 at Kidsy as of November 7, 2026, with 8 stores selling it new. Watch for registry and baby-event sales, when it tends to dip.
