Our take on the Mercury Row 69.7' Velvet Sofa

The Mercury Row 69.7" Velvet Sofa is a tufted, track-arm couch in gray velvet over a wood frame, sized for apartments and small living rooms. The button tufting and low, clean lines give it a mid-century look at a budget price. At $344.99 at Wayfair as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, so this is a good moment to buy if the size fits your room.

  • 70-inch length fits tight spaces
  • Track arms keep the footprint compact
  • Wood frame with a solid, simple silhouette
  • Gray velvet blends with most color schemes
Cons
  • Only 70 inches long, so it seats two comfortably, not three
  • Velvet needs regular brushing and careful cleaning
  • Tufted seats can feel firmer and collect crumbs
  • Few stores stock it, limiting price competition

Questions and answers

Is the Mercury Row Velvet Sofa worth it?
At $344.99 at Wayfair as of November 4, 2026, it is a low-cost way to get a tufted velvet sofa. It suits light use in a small room; do not expect deep, plush cushions.
How many people does a 70-inch sofa seat?
Two adults sit comfortably. A third person can squeeze in, but the 70-inch length makes it best as a two-seater or apartment couch.
Is velvet a good choice for a family sofa?
Velvet looks rich but needs brushing and spot cleaning, and it shows lint and pet hair. It works better in low-traffic rooms or homes without pets and small children.
What is the frame made of?
The frame is wood, and the sofa has track arms and button tufting. The listing does not detail the cushion fill, so check the product page if firmness matters to you.
When is the best time to buy it?
The current $344.99 at Wayfair as of November 4, 2026 is already near the low end of its recent range. Holiday furniture sales are the other window to watch for a further drop.
