Is the Quest 3S worth it over the Quest 3?

If price matters most, yes. The 3S has the same chip and passthrough but older Fresnel lenses and lower-resolution LCD panels. The Quest 3 is sharper with a wider field of view and better optics.

Does the 256 GB version matter?

Yes if you install many large games or keep media on the headset. VR games run several GB each, and there is no expansion slot, so 256 GB gives more headroom than the 128 GB model.

Can I use it with a PC?

Yes. It works with Meta Quest Link over a USB-C cable or wirelessly with Air Link on Windows PCs. You need a VR-ready graphics card and a good Wi-Fi connection for wireless play.

The headset, two Touch Plus controllers, an 18W power adapter and a charging cable. A link cable for PC VR is sold separately.

Does it work with glasses?

Our take on the Meta Quest 3S (256 GB)

The Meta Quest 3S is Meta's budget mixed-reality headset, a cheaper take on the Quest 3 with the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip and full-color passthrough for mixed reality. It uses Fresnel lenses and lower-resolution LCD panels (1832 x 1920 per eye) than the Quest 3, with a 96-degree horizontal field of view and up to 120 Hz refresh. The 256 GB version stores more games and apps than the base model. At $279.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range.
