Questions and answers

Is the Snapdragon X Elite version worth it over the Intel model?
Yes if battery life and silence matter most and your apps run natively on Arm. Check your key software first; anything relying on heavy x86 emulation will feel slower than an Intel or AMD chip.
Can it run all Windows software?
Most mainstream apps have Arm-native builds, and others run through emulation. Some games with anti-cheat and older specialized tools still fail or run poorly.
How long does the battery actually last?
Microsoft rates up to 20 hours. Expect closer to 12 to 16 hours of mixed browsing and office work, less with video calls or the screen at full brightness.
Is the RAM or storage upgradeable?
No. The 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD are fixed at purchase, so buy the configuration you will need in three or four years.
What comes in the box?
The laptop and a charger. No stylus and no mouse are included.
When is it cheapest?
Surface Laptop prices tend to drop around back-to-school and Black Friday. At $1,200 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is worth comparing against the other 5 stores listing it new.
