The Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition is Microsoft's flagship console with double the standard storage, a 2TB SSD, in a dark metallic finish with a speckled galaxy pattern. It plays the same 4K games as the standard Series X, with 12 teraflops of GPU power, a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive and Quick Resume for switching between multiple games. The 2TB model is a limited-run edition and now sells well above the $599.99 launch price: $1,588 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, across 6 stores listing it new. That is far above what a standard 1TB Series X costs, so the premium buys storage and the special finish, not extra performance.

Owners of the 2TB Galaxy Black praise the extra storage and the quiet, cool-running design, and many call it the best version of the Series X to own. The main complaints are the price premium over the 1TB model and the console's size.
