Questions and answers

Can it really run in a garage?
Yes. Midea rates this unit for garage installation, so it is built to handle wider temperature swings than a kitchen-only fridge. Keep it out of direct sun and leave the clearance the manual specifies.
How does the convertible setup work?
The two compartments total 20 cu. ft., split as 9.1 cu. ft. freezer and 10.9 cu. ft. refrigerator. You set which section runs as fridge or freezer, so you can favor cold storage or frozen storage.
Does it make ice or dispense water?
No. There is no ice maker and no water dispenser, and no door alarm either. Ice trays or a countertop maker are needed.
Is $797.99 a good price?
It is the best new price among the 7 stores listing it as of November 5, 2026, so it is the low end of the current market. Watch for seasonal appliance sales if you are not in a hurry.
Will it fit in a standard fridge opening?
It is 29.7 in. wide, 66.6 in. tall and 32.7 in. deep, and it is not counter depth. Measure the opening and door swing before buying.
How much energy does it use?
It is Energy Star certified at 524 kWh/yr. Actual use rises if the garage runs hot or the doors are opened often.
Where is the Midea 20 Cu. Ft. Garage Ready Convertible Upright Freezer cheapest?
At Appliance Solutions, for $797.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Midea 20 Cu. Ft. Garage Ready Convertible Upright Freezer?
