Is 900 watts enough for a 0.9 cu ft microwave?

Yes. 900 W is mid-range for this size and handles reheating, defrosting and popcorn without the long waits of 700 W units. It is not powerful enough for fast browning or crisping.

What are the outside dimensions?

The listing gives interior depth of 13.4 in and 27.17 in depth with the door open, plus 26 lb weight. Measure your counter depth and wall clearance before buying, since the vent is at the back.

Does it have sensor cooking?

No. It has one-touch cooking, automatic defrost, warm and reheat, but no humidity sensor to adjust time automatically. You set times and weights yourself.

What comes in the box?

The microwave oven only, per the listing. The glass turntable plate is part of the unit; no extra racks or accessories are included.

Is it safe to use in a rental or dorm?

It draws 11.7 A, so it needs a dedicated 15 A circuit and should not share a strip with a kettle or coffee maker. The listing shows no NRTL certification, so check the label on the unit if your housing requires one.

Countertop microwaves like this one tend to drop during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Check the price history before buying; small Midea units often swing $20 to $30.

Our take on the Midea Countertop Microwave Oven

The Midea MMC09S2BSB is a 0.9 cu ft countertop microwave with 900 watts, a stainless steel front and a glass turntable. It covers the basics well: one-touch cooking, automatic defrost, and warm and reheat settings. At 26 lb and 27.17 in deep with the door open, it needs a fair amount of counter clearance. It is a simple, budget-minded unit rather than a feature-heavy one.
