Our take on the Milwaukee M12/M18 12/18V Cordless 3/8 in. Ratchet & 1/2 in. Impact Wrench Combo Kit with 17-Piece Socket Set

A two-tool Milwaukee combo pairing a 3/8 in. cordless ratchet with a 1/2 in. impact wrench, both brushless and variable speed, plus two lithium-ion batteries, a charger, a 17-piece socket set and a tool bag. It is aimed at mechanics and construction pros who want one kit for fastening and bolt-breaking. The kit spans both M12 and M18 battery platforms, so the ratchet and wrench do not share the same pack.

Questions and answers

Is this kit worth it over buying the tools separately?
A combo usually costs less than the ratchet, wrench, batteries, charger and sockets bought one by one. If you need both tools, the kit is the cheaper route.
Do both tools use the same battery?
No. The 3/8 in. ratchet is an M12 tool and the 1/2 in. impact wrench is M18, so each runs on its own platform. The kit includes both battery types.
What is in the box?
The ratchet, the impact wrench, two lithium-ion batteries, a charger, a 17-piece socket set and a tool bag.
Can the impact wrench remove lug nuts?
A 1/2 in. impact wrench is the right size for most passenger-car lug nuts. Break them loose with the wrench, then torque to spec by hand.
When is the best time to buy?
Milwaukee combos tend to drop during holiday sales and store promo events. Check the price history before buying to see if the current price is near its low.
