Our take on the Milwaukee M18 18V Brushless Cordless Compact Drill/Impact Combo Kit with 2.0Ah Batteries

The Milwaukee M18 Brushless Compact Drill/Impact Combo Kit pairs two 18V cordless tools with two 2.0Ah lithium-ion batteries and a soft case. Both tools use brushless motors, which run cooler and last longer than brushed versions. The kit's only recorded price is $189 at the listed store as of November 1, 2026, so there is no lower recent price to wait for.

Pros
  • Brushless motors on both tools for longer runtime and life
  • Two 2.0Ah batteries included, so one can charge while the other works
  • Compact, light drill and impact driver for overhead and tight-space work
  • Soft case keeps the kit together
  • Shares the M18 battery platform with a large range of Milwaukee tools
Cons
  • 2.0Ah batteries are small; heavy use drains them quickly
  • Compact drill has less torque than Milwaukee's full-size hammer drills
  • No hard case or third battery
  • Not a hammer drill, so no masonry drilling

What reviewers say

Owners of Milwaukee's compact M18 brushless kits generally rate the drill and impact driver highly for build quality and power in a small body. The common complaint is battery capacity: the 2.0Ah packs are fine for home jobs but run down fast on bigger projects.

Pros
  • Solid, well-built tools that feel durable
  • Good power for their compact size
  • Impact driver's speed control and bit retention
  • Value of getting two tools and two batteries together
Cons
  • 2.0Ah batteries drain quickly under load
  • Chuck and clutch feel less refined than premium models
  • Soft case offers limited protection

Questions and answers

Is this kit worth it for home use?
Yes, if you want brushless Milwaukee tools on the M18 platform without buying pro-grade kits. Two batteries and a case cover most drilling and driving around the house.
How does it compare with Milwaukee's Fuel line?
Fuel tools use more advanced brushless motors and electronics, with more power and features. This kit is lighter and cheaper, and fine for moderate use.
How long do the 2.0Ah batteries last?
Expect a few hours of mixed drilling and driving per charge, less under continuous heavy load. Two batteries let you keep working while one charges.
Does the drill have a hammer mode?
No. It is a drill/driver only, so it will not drill masonry. You need a hammer drill for concrete or brick.
What comes in the box?
The drill, the impact driver, two 2.0Ah M18 batteries, a charger and a soft case.
When is the best time to buy?
The lowest recorded price is $189 as of November 1, 2026. Watch for holiday and spring tool promotions, when combo kits often drop.
