Our take on the Milwaukee M18 18V Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit (5-Tool) with (2) Batteries, Charger and Tool Bag

The Milwaukee M18 5-Tool Combo Kit bundles five 18V cordless tools with two batteries, a charger and a tool bag. It runs on Milwaukee's M18 battery platform, which covers more than 200 tools, so the batteries carry over as you add bare tools. Typical kits pair a hammer drill, impact driver, circular saw, reciprocating saw and work light. No price was supplied for this listing, so check the current best price against its recent range before buying.

Pros
  • One battery platform shared across five tools and 200+ M18 tools
  • Two batteries included, so one can charge while the other works
  • Brushless motors on most M18 tools for longer runtime
  • Tool bag keeps the kit together for transport
  • Milwaukee's 5-year tool warranty and 3-year battery warranty
Cons
  • Kit tools are usually the compact or base versions, not Fuel flagship models
  • Circular saw and reciprocating saw drain batteries faster than drills
  • Two batteries may not cover a full day of heavy cutting
  • Bare-tool prices are often lower if you already own M18 batteries
  • Kit contents vary by retailer, so confirm which five tools are included

Questions and answers

Is the Milwaukee M18 5-tool kit worth it?
It is worth it if you need several tools and no M18 batteries yet, since two batteries and a charger are a large part of the cost. If you already own M18 batteries, buying bare tools separately is usually cheaper.
What tools are in the kit?
Most M18 5-tool kits include a hammer drill, impact driver, circular saw, reciprocating saw and work light. Contents differ by retailer, so confirm the exact five tools before ordering.
How long do the batteries last?
Drills and impact drivers run for hours on a charge. Circular and reciprocating saws under load drain a battery much faster, so keep both charged on bigger jobs.
Does it work with other Milwaukee M18 tools?
Yes. The included batteries and charger work with the full M18 line of more than 200 tools, including Fuel models.
When is the best time to buy?
Combo kits see the deepest discounts around Black Friday, Father's Day and end-of-year clearance. Compare the current price with its recent range before buying.
