The MINISFORUM UM790 Pro is a small desktop built around AMD's Ryzen 9 7940HS, an 8-core chip that boosts to 5.2 GHz with Radeon 780M integrated graphics. This configuration pairs it with 32GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD in a black chassis that fits behind a monitor. It suits people who want laptop-class power without a laptop, or a compact home-lab node. At $809 at Newegg.com as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range, so it is not a bargain moment.

Owners of the UM790 Pro generally rate its CPU performance and compact size highly, and many use it as a quiet daily desktop or a virtualization host. Complaints center on fan noise under load, the small stock SSD, and Wi-Fi or driver quirks reported by some early buyers.
