Our take on the Mr Ironstone Convertible Chair Bed with Metal Frame and Armrests

The Mr Ironstone Convertible Chair Bed is a compact sleeper that folds from a two-seat chair into a twin bed, built on a metal frame with high-density foam and a 400 lb weight limit. It arrives assembled and weighs 28.6 lb, so it is easy to move between rooms. The white upholstery and 28.3 in seat width suit small spaces like studios, guest rooms and dorms. It is a budget-friendly pick rather than a long-term daily sofa.

Questions and answers

Is it comfortable enough to sleep on every night?
It is meant for occasional guests, not nightly use. The high-density foam is firm, and a mattress topper helps for multi-night stays.
How big is the bed when unfolded?
It opens into a twin-size bed. The chair itself has a 28.3 in seat width and 35 in seat depth, so measure your floor space before unfolding.
Does it need assembly?
No. It ships assembled, and at 28.6 lb one person can usually move it alone.
Can two adults sit on it?
Yes, up to 400 lb total, but the 28.3 in seat width is snug for two adults. It suits one person plus a child better.
How do I clean the white fabric?
Wipe it with a dry cloth. For spills, spot-clean gently and avoid soaking the foam.
When is the price lowest?
Furniture like this tends to dip during major sale events and at the end of the season. Check the price history before buying.
