Our take on the Mutoh XpertJet 1682WR 64" Dye-Sublimation Printer Bundle

The Mutoh XpertJet 1682WR is a 64-inch wide-format dye-sublimation printer sold as a bundle, aimed at shops producing soft signage, apparel transfer paper and textile graphics. It prints up to 63.6 inches wide at up to 1200 dpi and handles media from 0.04 mm to 1.0 mm thick, so it covers thin transfer paper through heavier coated substrates. The best new price is $15,634 at GPI Supplies as of November 3, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to compare against. At that level it is a capital purchase for a production shop, not a desktop add-on.

Questions and answers

Is the XpertJet 1682WR worth it for a small print shop?
Only if you already sell soft signage, banners or apparel transfers at volume. The printer alone is $15,634 at GPI Supplies as of November 3, 2026, before a heat press, ink and ventilation.
What comes in the bundle?
Mutoh sells this as a printer bundle, but confirm the exact contents with the store before ordering. Ask specifically whether ink, a take-up unit and RIP software are included, since those change the real cost.
What width of media does it take?
It prints up to 63.6 inches wide, so standard 64-inch rolls fit. Media thickness runs from 0.04 mm to 1.0 mm.
Do I need a heat press to use it?
Yes for apparel and textile work. The printer outputs sublimation transfer paper or direct-to-textile prints; fixing color onto fabric requires a heat press or calendar.
How does it compare with a 64-inch eco-solvent printer?
Dye-sublimation is for polyester textiles and transfer work, while eco-solvent suits vinyl, banners and outdoor signage. Choose based on your product mix, not just the 64-inch width.
When is the price likely to be lowest?
With only one new listing at $15,634 as of November 3, 2026, there is no competing store price to wait for. Watch for Mutoh rebates or trade-show promotions instead.
Where is the Mutoh XpertJet 1682WR 64" Dye-Sublimation Printer Bundle cheapest?
At GPI Supplies, for $15,634.00, as of our latest check.
