Our take on the Mytee Products 8' x 12' Clear Vinyl Tarp

The Mytee Products 8' x 12' Clear Vinyl Tarp is a heavy 24 mil clear vinyl sheet, about 18 lb, sold with a roll of transparent repair tape. The clear material lets light through, so it works for greenhouse walls, wind screens and covered enclosures where you want daylight without a view. It is a heavy-duty tarp rather than a light drop cloth, and it is stiff and bulky to handle. No price was provided for this listing, so check the current price against other 24 mil clear vinyl tarps before buying.

Questions and answers

Is 24 mil clear vinyl strong enough for a greenhouse wall?
Yes. At 24 mil it is much thicker than typical 6 to 12 mil greenhouse film and resists tears and punctures. It blocks less light than opaque tarps, but it is heavier and needs solid framing.
Does the tarp come with grommets?
The listed contents are the tarp and a roll of transparent repair tape. No grommets or fasteners are listed, so plan on adding them or clamping the edges to a frame.
Will it stay clear in the sun?
Clear vinyl typically yellows and stiffens after prolonged UV exposure. Expect it to last longer under shade or seasonal use than in year-round direct sun.
How do I attach it to a frame?
Use batten strips, staples with washers, or grommets set into the edge, and keep the sheet taut so wind does not flap it. The included tape patches small holes but is not a structural fastener.
Is it cheaper to buy two smaller tarps?
A single 8' x 12' sheet avoids seams that leak and weaken, which usually matters more than the price difference. Compare per-square-foot prices across sizes before deciding.
