Our take on the Nacon RIG 500 Pro Gaming Headset

The Nacon RIG 500 Pro is a wireless RF gaming headset with 40 mm drivers, a boom microphone and on-ear touch controls. It uses a USB dongle-style RF connection rather than Bluetooth, which keeps latency low for console and PC play. The only price on record is $114.99 at the time of writing, so there is no cheaper recent price to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the RIG 500 Pro worth it at $114.99?
At $114.99 it sits in the mid-range for RF wireless gaming headsets with a mic. If low-latency wireless matters more than Bluetooth flexibility, it is a reasonable buy.
Does it work with PlayStation and Xbox?
RF dongle headsets are usually tied to one platform family. Check which console the dongle is made for before buying, since the same model can ship in different versions.
Can I use it with a phone or Bluetooth device?
No. It uses RF wireless through its dongle, not Bluetooth, so phones and tablets without a matching USB port won't work.
What's in the box?
Expect the headset, the RF wireless dongle and a charging cable. Confirm the exact bundle with the store before ordering.
How long does the battery last?
Battery life depends on volume and use, and the listing doesn't state a figure. Expect a full day of play per charge on most RF headsets in this class.
When is it cheapest?
The only recorded price is $114.99, so there is no lower recent price to wait for. Watch for seasonal sales if you can wait.
What do buyers say about the Nacon RIG 500 Pro Gaming Headset?
