Questions and answers

Is the Nemo Switchback warm enough for three-season camping?
Yes for most spring-to-fall trips. The closed-cell foam insulates without air movement, but it is not a winter pad; below freezing, pair it with an air pad.
How does it compare with an inflatable pad?
It is lighter and cannot puncture, but it is thinner and bulkier. Inflatables are more comfortable and pack smaller; the Switchback is simpler and tougher.
Will it fit in a backpack?
It folds to a compact rectangle rather than rolling, so it straps to the outside of most packs or fits in a large compartment. It takes more space than an inflatable pad.
Is it good for side sleepers?
Usually not as a sole pad. At 0.9 inch thick, side sleepers often feel pressure on hips and shoulders; use it under an air pad or choose a thicker pad.
What is the best price for the Switchback?
The best new price is $59.95 at Backcountry as of November 7, 2026. It is the only new price listed.
Where is the Nemo Equipment Switchback Foam Sleeping Pad cheapest?
At Backcountry, for $59.95, as of our latest check.
