Is the built-in scale accurate enough for portioning?

The tempered glass platform is meant for weighing food portions before sealing. For precise baking or small gram measurements, a dedicated kitchen scale is still the safer choice.

What bags does it use?

It is compatible with quart- and gallon-sized vacuum sealer bags from all brands, so you are not locked into Nesco bags.

Can it seal liquids or moist foods?

It is designed for fresh foods in bags, but moist items need care; excess liquid can interfere with the vacuum and seal. Pre-freezing saucy foods helps.

Is $49.99 a good price?

That is the best new price among 5 stores as of November 5, 2026, at eBay. Compare it against the other stores before buying, since prices on this model move.

Is it for commercial use?

No. Nesco lists it for residential use, so it suits home batch cooking and preserving, not continuous business volume.

What comes in the box?

The unit itself with the digital scale platform and cord storage. Check the listing for whether starter bags are included, since that varies by seller.
