Is the Nespresso Vertuo worth it?

It is worth it if you want espresso and full-size coffee from one machine with no grinding or measuring. If you drink several cups a day, add up capsule costs before deciding.

Does it take Original Nespresso pods?

No. The Vertuo line uses only Vertuo capsules, which are wider and barcode-read. Original line pods will not fit.

How big is the water tank?

The tank holds 40 fl oz, roughly five to eight cups depending on brew size. Expect to refill it most days.

What comes in the box?

The machine and a complimentary starter set of Vertuo capsules; the assortment can vary. A user guide is included, and Nespresso recommends reading it before first use.

Can it make iced coffee?

Yes. It brews hot coffee that you pour over ice, and Nespresso sells Vertuo pods made for iced drinks.

The only recorded price is $131 at BREWMENT as of October 31, 2026. Nespresso machines often drop during Black Friday and bundle promotions, so compare before buying.

Our take on the Nespresso Vertuo

The Nespresso Vertuo is a pod coffee maker that brews espresso and full cups of coffee using Nespresso's Centrifusion extraction, which spins the capsule and reads a barcode to set brew size. It has a 40 fl oz water tank, automatic operation and auto shut-off, and comes with a starter set of capsules. Its only recorded price is $131 at BREWMENT as of October 31, 2026, so there is no earlier range to compare against.
