Our take on the New Balance 520v8 Womens Sneaker

The New Balance 520v8 is a neutral everyday running shoe with soft EVA foam cushioning, a 10 mm heel-to-toe drop and a light 200 g (7.1 oz) build. No-sew overlays keep the upper smooth and simple. It suits casual runners and all-day wearers more than speed work or long-distance training. The best new price is $108.82 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to shop around.

Questions and answers

Is the New Balance 520v8 good for everyday running?
Yes, for easy, short to moderate runs. The soft EVA foam and 10 mm drop give a comfortable, forgiving ride, but the basic cushioning is not built for long distances or fast paces.
How does the 520v8 compare with the 520v7?
Both are neutral, soft EVA trainers with a 10 mm drop. The v8 keeps the light build and no-sew upper, so the upgrade is incremental rather than a redesign; buy whichever is cheaper.
Does the 520v8 fit true to size?
New Balance running shoes generally fit true to size, and the no-sew upper is soft and accommodating. Try your usual running-shoe size first.
Is the 520v8 good for overpronation?
No. It is a neutral shoe with no stability posting or guide rails. Runners who overpronate should look at a stability model instead.
What is the heel-to-toe drop on the 520v8?
10 mm. That is on the higher side, which suits heel strikers and all-day wear but feels less natural to runners used to low-drop shoes.
When is the best time to buy the 520v8?
It is a budget line, so discounts come when a new version arrives or during seasonal sales. As of November 4, 2026, the best new price is $108.82 at Amazon, and only one store lists it new.
Where is the New Balance 520v8 Womens Sneaker cheapest?
At Amazon, for $108.82, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the New Balance 520v8 Womens Sneaker?
2 stores we checked sell it, including eBay, Amazon.
