The New Balance FuelCell 4040v6 is a metal-cleat baseball shoe built on a FuelCell foam midsole for a springy, low-profile ride around the bases. The upper uses a synthetic, water-resistant build with a camo print in gray and silver, and the metal plate suits natural grass and well-groomed fields. At $113 at GOAT as of November 7, 2026, it sits well below the shoe's typical launch pricing, making it one of the cheaper ways into a FuelCell cleat.

Owners of the 4040 line generally like the light, springy feel and the secure metal grip, and the water-resistant upper gets credit on wet fields. Complaints center on durability of the upper and the cleat plate over a full season.
