Is the USB-C port on this hub for data or just power?

The listing shows USB-C as a data interface alongside USB-A, so it is meant for devices, not just charging. Treat it as a slower port unless the specs say otherwise.

How fast is each port?

One port runs at USB 3.2 Gen 1, or 5 Gbps. The hub also lists USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) and USB 1.1 (12 Mbps) support, so expect slower speeds on the other ports.

Does it need a power adapter?

No. It is bus-powered over USB, so it runs from the host device. That also means power-hungry drives may not work reliably.

Will it work with a laptop that only has USB-C ports?

The hub has a USB-C connector, but check whether your laptop's USB-C port carries data. A USB-C-to-USB-A adapter may be needed depending on the cable.

Is $13.69 a good price?

It is the only new price listed, at Newegg as of November 7, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare. For a four-port hub with one 5 Gbps port, it is inexpensive.

Our take on the NGS iHub 4 Micro Mini USB 3.2 Gen 3x USB 2.0

The NGS iHub 4 is a small external hub that splits one USB port into four: three USB-A and one USB-C connector, with a Micro-USB input on the hub side. Its fastest port runs at USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps), while the rest fall back to USB 2.0 or 1.1 speeds. It is bus-powered, so it draws current from the host device and needs no power adapter. At $13.69 at Newegg as of November 7, 2026, it is a budget-priced hub with only one store listing it new, so there is little price history to compare against.
