Our take on the Nifty City Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Wide Screen for Lexus GX400 GX460 2009-2021

This is a 12.5-inch ultra-wide touchscreen that replaces the factory display in 2009-2021 Lexus GX400 and GX460 SUVs. It runs Android 12 with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and Google Play Store access, and it piggy-backs on the factory wiring so no wires are cut. The factory reverse camera, steering wheel controls, climate display and radio all run through the new screen. The best new price is $1,597.00 at Nifty City as of November 5, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no discount to compare against.

Pros
  • Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, no cable needed for daily driving
  • 12.5-inch 1920x1080 multi-touch screen is far larger and sharper than the factory unit
  • Plug-and-play harness keeps the factory radio, reverse camera, guidelines and steering wheel buttons
  • Android 12 with Google Play Store, built-in GPS and offline maps
  • 8GB RAM and 128GB storage are generous for an aftermarket head unit
Cons
  • $1,597.00 is expensive for an aftermarket screen, and only one store sells it new
  • Fit is listed by model year, so buyers must pick the right year for their GX
  • Uses an aftermarket or on-board microphone, which may be weaker than the factory one
  • No mention of wireless charging or a dedicated volume knob
  • Android head units can be slow to boot and need occasional updates

Questions and answers

Is the Nifty City screen worth $1,597?
It is the only new listing at $1,597.00 at Nifty City as of November 5, 2026, so you are paying for a large 1080p screen plus wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in a plug-and-play kit. If you mainly want CarPlay and can live with the factory screen size, a smaller module costs less. If you want the big screen and retained factory features, this is the package.
Will it work with my 2015 Lexus GX460?
Yes. The listing covers GX400 and GX460 from 2009 to 2021, and the 2015 year option is one of the supported choices. Pick your exact model year when ordering, since the harness differs by year.
Does it keep the factory reverse camera and steering wheel controls?
Yes. The factory reverse camera and guidelines display inside the new screen, and the steering wheel buttons and climate control readouts work through it. The factory radio also stays available inside the new interface.
Do I have to cut any wires to install it?
No. Nifty City says it is plug-and-play and piggy-backs on the factory looms, so no wire cutting is needed. Plan for dashboard trim removal and a few hours of work, or budget for professional installation.
What is in the box?
The kit includes the 12.5-inch screen, the plug-and-play wiring harness and the aftermarket microphone. Check the listing for your model year to confirm the exact harness included.
When is it cheapest?
Only one store lists it new, at $1,597.00 at Nifty City as of November 5, 2026, so there is no competing price to wait for. Watch for direct sales from Nifty City around major holidays.
Where is the Nifty City Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Wide Screen for Lexus GX400 GX460 2009-2021 cheapest?
At Nifty City, for $1,597.00, as of our latest check.
