Our take on the Nisien Upholstered Platform Bed with Wingback Storage Headboard and Charging Station

The Nisien Upholstered Platform Bed is a metal-frame bed wrapped in linen upholstery, with a wingback headboard that hides storage and includes a built-in charging station. It comes in Full, Queen and King and is rated to hold up to 1,000 lb, with slats included so no box spring is needed. The wingback headboard and outlets are the features that set it apart from plain platform beds at this level. It is a frame-only purchase, so the mattress is sold separately.

Questions and answers

Is the Nisien platform bed worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you want an upholstered bed with storage and bedside charging in one purchase. If you only need a basic frame, a plain metal platform bed costs less.
Do I need a box spring with this bed?
No. Slats are included, so a mattress sits directly on the frame. A box spring would only raise the mattress height.
What mattress thickness works with the wingback headboard?
A mattress around 8 to 12 inches thick sits well against the headboard and keeps the wingback visible. Very thick mattresses can cover part of the headboard.
Does the charging station need special wiring?
No. The charging station plugs into a standard wall outlet with the cord routed along the headboard. Check that an outlet is reachable from the head of the bed.
What sizes and weight limit does it come in?
It is sold in Full, Queen and King, and the frame is rated for up to 1,000 lb. The listed frame is 77.6 in wide and 83.5 in long, so measure your room before ordering.
What is in the box?
You get the frame, slats, upholstered headboard with storage and charging station, and the hardware for assembly. The mattress is not included.
