Will it hold an 8-foot tree?

Yes. Northlight rates it for trees up to 8 feet tall with a wide trunk. A taller or very heavy tree may need a larger metal stand.

How much water does it hold?

Northlight calls it double water capacity but does not list a gallon figure. Expect to refill less often than with a standard single-reservoir stand.

How does the slide-to-lock system work?

Threaded knobs slide into place and then tighten against the trunk, so you do not have to crank them from the start. That speeds up setup and centering.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes, it is rated for indoor and outdoor use. Outdoors, place it on level ground and check the water level often.

At $39.99 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is a mid-priced plastic stand. The wide mouth and fast knobs are the main reasons to pick it over a basic screw-in stand.

No. Northlight lists no written warranty, so keep your receipt and inspect the base for cracks before filling it.
