Our take on the Northlight Pre-Lit Pencil Alpine Artificial

The Northlight Pre-Lit Pencil Alpine is a slim artificial Christmas tree with a 2-inch-wide profile and 200 built-in multicolor lights. Its narrow shape suits tight corners, entryways and small rooms where a full-width tree won't fit. The PVC branches are designed for a sparse, natural alpine look rather than dense fullness. At $161.99 at Lowe's as of November 8, 2026, it is the best new price among the two stores that carry it.

Best forSmall apartments and tight cornersEntryways and narrow hallwaysShoppers who want lights already attachedA second tree for a spare room
Pros
  • Very slim 2-inch profile fits where full trees can't
  • 200 pre-strung multicolor lights save setup time
  • Sparse alpine look reads as natural, not sparse-by-accident
  • PVC construction is light and easy to move alone
Cons
  • Only 2 inches wide, so it holds few ornaments
  • 200 bulbs give a modest glow on a tall tree
  • Sparse branching shows gaps up close
  • PVC needles are less realistic than PE-molded tips

Questions and answers

How tall is this tree?
The listing gives a 2-inch width and 200 bulbs but no height figure. Check the height on the Lowe's page before buying, since pencil trees come in several sizes.
Are the lights replaceable?
Pre-lit trees of this type usually use replaceable mini bulbs with a spare-bulb pack in the box. Confirm on the Lowe's listing, since Northlight does not publish a bulb spec here.
Can it stand on its own?
Slim pencil trees normally ship with a folding metal stand. A 2-inch-wide tree is light, so the stand mainly keeps it upright rather than bearing much weight.
Is $161.99 a good price?
It is the best new price among the two stores that list it as of November 8, 2026. Compare against other pre-lit pencil trees in the same height before deciding.
Can I use it outdoors?
The listing does not state an indoor/outdoor rating. Treat it as an indoor tree unless Lowe's confirms otherwise.
Where is the Northlight Pre-Lit Pencil Alpine Artificial cheapest?
At Lowe's, for $161.99, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Northlight Pre-Lit Pencil Alpine Artificial?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Lowe's, Michaels.
