Is the Nostalgia Snow Cone Maker worth it?

It is worth it if you will use it often for kids or parties. For occasional use, a $59.99 single-purpose appliance may sit in the cabinet.

Does it come with snow cone cups and syrup?

Most Nostalgia snow cone makers ship with a few paper cones and sometimes a syrup bottle, but bundles vary by listing. Check the box contents on the Walmart listing before buying.

What kind of ice should I use?

Standard freezer ice cubes work. Smaller cubes shave faster and give a softer texture, and ice should go in a little at a time.

How does it compare with a blender or slushie machine?

A blender crushes ice coarsely and is louder in bursts. A dedicated shaver gives finer snow-cone texture, while a slushie machine costs more and needs freezing time.

When is the price lowest?

Snow cone makers tend to drop in price at the end of summer and around Black Friday. At $59.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new listing, so compare again before buying.

Our take on the Nostalgia Snow Cone Maker

The Nostalgia Snow Cone Maker is a countertop machine that shaves ice into fluffy snow for homemade snow cones and slushies. It stands 15.5 inches tall and uses stainless steel components, with a retro look meant to sit out on the counter. It is a single-purpose appliance, so it earns its place only if your household will actually use it. As of November 4, 2026, the best new price is $59.99 at Walmart, the only store listing it new.
