Our take on the Nourison Somerset Area Rug

The Nourison Somerset Area Rug is a 4' x 6' rectangular indoor rug in a latte spot pattern, made of stain-resistant synthetic yarn with an easy-care finish. It is hand-finished rather than machine-loomed, which gives the pile a softer, denser feel than most rugs at this price. The only new price on record is $98.97 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026, with no other new listings to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the Nourison Somerset rug worth it?
At $98.97 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026, it is a reasonable buy for a stain-resistant 4' x 6' rug with a handmade finish. It is not a wool heirloom, so judge it as a practical everyday rug.
How does it compare with a wool rug?
Synthetic yarn is cheaper and easier to clean but less durable and less soft than wool over many years. Choose this one for spills and budget; choose wool for longevity.
Does it shed?
Some owners report light shedding in the first weeks, which is common for hand-finished synthetic rugs. Vacuum gently without a beater bar and it usually settles.
What size is it, and will it fit my room?
It is 4' x 6', best under a coffee table or at the foot of a bed. For a full sofa-and-chairs arrangement, size up.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
The stain-resistant synthetic pile handles spills and muddy paws well. It is an indoor rug, so keep it out of wet outdoor areas.
When is it cheapest?
The only new price on record is $98.97 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026. Watch for storewide home sales and clearance events, when area rugs typically drop.
Where is the Nourison Somerset Area Rug cheapest?

Rated 4.6 out of 5 from 3,800 ratings.
