Our take on the Oasis Mini Sand Table

The Oasis Mini is a 9-inch round kinetic sand art canvas. A small steel ball rolls silently through a thin layer of sand, drawing patterns that slowly erase and redraw themselves. It runs on USB-C power with the wall block included, so it needs an outlet nearby. At $129 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range across the three stores that carry it new.

Questions and answers

Is the Oasis Mini worth $129?
At $129 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is the lowest of the three new listings. Buy it if you want a silent, self-running kinetic piece; skip it if you expect varied or programmable patterns.
How is it different from the original Oasis sand table?
The Mini is the smaller 9-inch, 3-inch-tall version, meant for desks and shelves. The larger Oasis models cover more surface and suit a coffee table or floor stand.
Does it need to stay plugged in?
Yes. It runs from USB-C with the included wall block and has no internal battery, so plan for an outlet or a USB power strip nearby.
What comes in the box?
The sand canvas, the sand, the steel ball, a USB-C cable and a wall power block. No app or subscription is required.
Can I change the sand or the patterns?
The sand is a single color and the patterns are generated by the device, not chosen by you. You can smooth the sand by hand to reset the surface.
When is it cheapest?
