Our take on the Oathx Kids Drum Set Montessori Musical Instruments for Toddlers

The Oathx Kids Drum Set is a wooden toddler music kit with three sheepskin drums, a xylophone, two cymbals, a wood tone block, hand bells and two sticks, aimed at ages 12 months and up. It leans on Montessori-style play: rhythm, hand-eye coordination and cause-and-effect rather than screens. Finishes are natural wood with water-based paints and rounded edges, in muted Morandi colors. Its only recorded price is $34.20 at Walmart as of October 28, 2026, so there is no range yet to judge it against.

Cons
  • Real drums and cymbals are loud in small rooms

  • Wood and skin need dry storage; humidity warps them
  • Tuning is limited, so it is a toy first, instrument second

Questions and answers

Is it worth $34.20?
At $34.20 at Walmart as of October 28, 2026, it is priced like a mid-range wooden toy set rather than a cheap plastic one. You get seven instrument types in one kit, which is good value if your child actually plays with it.
What age is it for?
The set is listed for 12 months and up. Children under 3 should be supervised because of the sticks, cymbals and small bells.
How does it compare with a plastic drum set?
Wood and sheepskin give a warmer, less clattery tone than plastic, and the natural finish fits neutral rooms. Plastic sets are usually cheaper and easier to wipe clean.
What comes in the box?
Three sheepskin drums, a xylophone, two cymbals, a wood tone block, hand bells and two wooden sticks.
Is it too loud for an apartment?
Drums and cymbals carry, so it is louder than a xylophone alone. Playing on a rug and limiting cymbal use keeps the noise down.
When is the best time to buy?
The only recorded price is $34.20 as of October 28, 2026, with no history to compare. Watch for holiday toy sales, when wooden sets like this often drop.
Is the Oathx Kids Drum Set Montessori Musical Instruments for Toddlers at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $34.20 at Walmart on October 28.
