Is the Onnit Chimp kettlebell worth $380?

Only as a collectible. A standard 36 lb cast-iron kettlebell costs a fraction of that. Pay the $380 at Mercari as of November 5, 2026 only if you want the discontinued Chimp design specifically.

How does the 36 lb Chimp compare to other Onnit Primal kettlebells?

Same cast-iron build and enlarged handle as the rest of the Primal line, but the Chimp face is discontinued and harder to find. Weight and dimensions match other 36 lb Primal bells.

What are the dimensions and handle size?

It is 9 inches tall and 7 inches wide and weighs 36 lb. The handle is enlarged for grip work, which suits larger hands but can feel wide for smaller ones.

Is this kettlebell new or used?

The Mercari listing describes it as new dead stock. Inspect photos for chips or rust before buying, since dead stock can sit in storage for years.

Can I still get this from Onnit directly?

The Chimp version is discontinued, so Onnit is unlikely to restock it. Secondary marketplaces like Mercari are the main source.

When is the best time to buy?

There is no seasonal discount cycle for a discontinued item with one new listing. Watch for used listings, which typically sell for less than the $380 new price.

Our take on the Onnit Kettlebell

The Onnit Primal Kettlebell is a cast-iron kettlebell with a chimp face molded into the bell, part of Onnit's Primal line tied to Joe Rogan's promotion. This is the 36 lb version with an enlarged, ergonomic handle and a chip-resistant black finish. It stands 9 inches tall and 7 inches wide. The only new listing found is $380 at Mercari as of November 5, 2026, a collector-level price driven by the discontinued Chimp design rather than lifting performance.
