Our take on the Oppo K14x 5G
The Oppo K14x 5G is a budget 5G phone with a 6.75-inch screen, a 50 MP rear camera, and 128 GB of storage. It comes in 4 GB and 6 GB RAM versions, in Violet or Icy Blue, and is sold unlocked with single-SIM support. Its appeal is a big screen and 5G at the low end of the market; the trade-offs are modest RAM and a single SIM slot.

Questions and answers
- Is the 4 GB or 6 GB RAM version worth it?
- Get the 6 GB version if you keep many apps open or play games; the extra RAM reduces reloading. The 4 GB model is fine for calls, chat and browsing.
- Does it support dual SIM?
- No. It is listed as single SIM, so you cannot run two numbers at once without swapping cards.
- Is the 50 MP camera good in low light?
- The 50 MP sensor gives good detail in daylight. In dim light it relies on pixel binning and software, so expect softer, noisier shots than a mid-range phone.
- Will it work on my carrier?
- It is unlocked and supports GSM and 5G, so it works with most major carriers. Check that your carrier's 5G bands are supported before buying.
- What comes in the box?
- Expect the phone, a charger, a USB cable, and a SIM tool. A case and screen protector are not guaranteed.
- When is it cheapest?
- Budget Oppo phones usually drop during major sale events and when a successor launches. Track the price history and buy below the recent average.
