Is this bed worth it compared with a shredded-foam bed?

Yes, if you want firm support. A solid gel memory foam core does not clump or flatten the way shredded fill does. It costs more and weighs more, but it lasts longer for a large or senior dog.

What size should I get for a large dog?

Measure your dog stretched out nose to tail and add a few inches. The Large Crate size is 41" x 27"; the XXL is 55" x 37" and the XXXL/Jumbo is 55" x 47". When in doubt, size up for a dog that sprawls.

Is the cover really waterproof?

The foam sits inside a waterproof zippered inner cover, and the outer fabric cover goes over that. The outer cover is machine washable and dryable. Wipe the inner cover rather than machine washing it.

What comes in the box?

One memory foam pad insert, one waterproof inner cover and one outer cover in your chosen fabric. The foam may need a day to fully expand after unpacking.

Does the gel foam keep a dog cool?

Gel infusion moves heat away better than plain foam, but a 4-inch solid pad still insulates. It is not a cooling mat. Dogs that run hot may prefer a raised cot in summer.

When is the price lowest?

The best new price was $57.00 at Dogbed4less as of November 5, 2026. Larger sizes and premium fabrics cost more, so compare the exact size and cover before buying.
