Is the Argo 100X Angler worth it for a beginner?

Yes, if you want an inexpensive, light sit-inside kayak for calm water and occasional fishing. It is stable and easy to transport, but it lacks a rudder and has a basic seat.

How does it compare with a sit-on-top fishing kayak?

It is lighter and drier in cold weather than most sit-on-tops, but it is harder to climb back into and has less open deck space for gear. Sit-on-tops suit warm water and easy re-entry better.

Can I carry it on a roof rack alone?

At about 36 lb, most adults can lift it onto a car roof, though a helper makes it safer. Use proper kayak saddles or J-cradles and tie-down straps.

What is included in the box?

The kayak comes with the adjustable ERGOFORM backrest and seat cushion, adjustable footrests, the cockpit table, the swivel rod holder and two flush-mount rod holders. A paddle is not included.

How much weight can it hold?

The maximum capacity is 275 lb, which covers the paddler plus gear. Larger paddlers should leave margin for tackle and a cooler.

Kayak prices usually drop at the end of summer and during spring pre-season sales. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
